According to JONATHAN M. KATZ – June 30, (2009) “Three international organizations canceled $1.2 billion of Haiti’s debt Tuesday, freeing up millions of dollars each year for the deeply impoverished Caribbean nation that is beset by humanitarian crises.
The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund said their boards decided this week to forgive Haiti’s obligations to the two organizations, a move that triggered previously announced debt relief from the Inter-American Development Bank.
The actions erased nearly two-thirds of Haiti’s outstanding debt. As of April, Haiti owned more than $1.9 billion, according to the Washington-based Center for Economic and Policy Research. “This is a pretty big victory, definitely. This is what we’ve been wanting,” said Dan Beeton, an analyst with the center, said by phone from Washington. “It’s a shame it had to take so long.” Until now, the desperately poor country, where more than 80 percent of its approximately 9 million people live on less than $2 a day, has been paying about $1.6 million each month to the World Bank, according to debt relief advocates at the Jubilee USA Network.
A significant portion of the debt forgiven Tuesday dates back to loans that lined the pockets of Haiti’s dictators, especially Francois “Papa Doc” and Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier, whose father-son dynasty ended in a 1986 popular rebellion”( KATZ , 2009).

“USAID/Haiti is requesting applications from qualified organizations or consortia of organizations in Haiti to implement a program for relief and reconstruction work in the Northwest and Artibonite departments that have recently suffered extensive damage from Tropical Storm Jeanne. This program would be funded at an approximate level of $21.8 million and be carried out over 24 months. Activities would address immediate needs to rehabilitate public use infrastructure, reinstitute services, support household recovery, mitigate future hazards and ensure sustainable reconstruction of the damage done by Tropical Storm Jeanne. The types of activities envisioned would include road repair, reconstruction of damaged schools, health facilities, and other public buildings, community activities in disaster preparedness and mitigation, and assistance to disaster-affected households, farms, and businesses.”
What we can do in inder to prevent this not happening again another quote
According to Ms. Jean Dominique wife, “Jean had considered Raboteau as being the major trial of the last 6 years. Jean felt that if Raboteau was successful, if the trial was successful if the trial really got to the bottom of the coup d’etat, not necessarily in terms of giving sentencing to this one or that one but in terms of having an open, transparent, clean process where people would see what was happening, would hear what was happening, where actually we could see a trial being really done. And the process to him was more important than the actual outcome and we felt that since he had devoted so much of his time to debates around Raboteau I think Jean must have had at least, oh I don’t know, at least 30, 40 interviews about Raboteau, with the victims Interviews with people in charge of the trial, with the lawyers, with people from Gonaives, what they were expecting of that trial people all over the country talking about impunity and about the meaning that Raboteau would have. Poor the lady.
International Recognition of the Republic of Haiti
According to Michael C. Twomey on his research based upon scientifically founding. Here is one on my favor
“After years of conflict with France, the people of Haiti declared themselves an independent Republic on January 1st, 1804. Instead of being welcomed into the family of nations however, Haiti was long ignored by the major European powers, and even longer ignored by the United States of America. As early as 1823, Britain recognized the independence of many of Spain’s erstwhile colonies, Haiti was not formally recognized until1825. This was 21 years after they had achieved their actual independence. France waited until 1838 to acknowledge Haitian independence, and this was only obtained at the cost of a large indemnity and a 50% reduction in import duties.14 Despite the slow pace of international recognition however, by 1860, an important countries had representatives in Haiti. That is all nations except the United States of America. Why was the United States of America unwilling or unable to acknowledge Haiti as an independent nation? The answer lies in the United States of America’s retention of slavery. The fact is that the U.S. could not acknowledge the independence of a nation of former slaves while half of their own nation was under the control of slave owners.
Therefore it wasn’t until the southern U.S. slave owning states were on the verge of defeat during the American Civil War that a treaty of friendship, commerce and navigation could be signed with Haiti. This occurred on November 1864,15 more than sixty years after Haiti had actually gained its independence.” Now 145 years later.
Now, this is my empirical perception as African Haitian American (AHA).
Do you think money could be could have should have been an A’ factor to solve Haitian problem ratter human element perseverance approach on itself. I do believes there are three factor that can be reconsider at this point of time 1. Hospital, 2. Jail, and School. These are can re-straighten their Constitution approach based on the credibility of the ledger Constituently ethical believe. The point I am trying lie now is that. Because it seem like Haitian people going to be on their own based on my analysis result, thus, that is to say Technology Education Knowledge help would the A’ factor in order to maintain the grassroots. if Haitian people get to comfortable human mass production will be summarily increase and would have been another factor in to this density issue based on Global Warming matter.

Wyclef, are you praising a communist murderer by posting this photo of Che Guevara on your blog? I’m just a bit confused… Do you consider yourself a Marxist?
It is my opnion as well as the opinion of many, Che Guevara was a man who fought against imperialism and against social injustice. For you to refer to him as a “communist murderer” is a bit misleading. Was Tupac Amaru II a murderer for leading an uprising and liberating his Peruvian people? Was Toussiant L’ouverture wrong for leading slaves against their “owners” and creating a free Haiti? Any man or woman who fights against tyranny are hardly evil. We look at these people as heros who make change rather than wait for it to happen on it’s own.
